Property Soup | British Wealth Flows Into Greek Luxury Property As Confidence Grows

Property Soup featured Greece Sotheby's International Realty's new UHNWI survey, highlighting British wealth as one of the most significant international forces now shaping Greece's luxury property market.

The survey, the first of its kind to directly canvass high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth buyers active in Greece, gathered more than 250 responses from over 30 countries between September 4 and 22, 2025.

It found that UK buyers account for 10% of international demand, placing Britain second only to the United States, with most operating in the €2-5 million range and favouring the Cyclades, the Athens Riviera, and the Peloponnese. Across all respondents, 83% expect the Greek economy to remain stable or improve over the next year, and annual luxury property volumes in Greece were estimated at €800m-€1bn as of the survey.

Savvas Savvaidis, President & CEO of Greece Sotheby's International Realty, said the sector has evolved over the past decade from a marginal niche into a significant economic driver for the country. "Among them, 10% reported a budget above €10 million," he noted, describing the respondent pool as drawn from a qualified database of 14,300 subscribers built over ten years.

The Cyclades, Athens Riviera, and Peloponnese feature prominently in the Intelligence Hub's Voices of Affluence report, which this survey forms the basis of.
