Sporades

Although there are twenty-four islands in the block of Sporades, only four of them are permanently inhabited, namely Skiathos, Skopelos, Alonissos and Skyros. Ideal islands for hopping from one to another by yacht or sailing boat and enjoying a celebrity lifestyle.

Skiathos is the most-travelled of the islands thanks to its international airport and its famous sandy beaches. Away from the coast you can still find isolated hiking trails and the odd Byzantine monastery. Skopelos is larger, but less touristic. Its rugged scenery is more beautiful and less developed. Shots of the Hollywood film “Mamma Mia” were filmed on this island, making it world-known for its picturesque villages and contrast between the green hilltops and the turquoise waters of the sea.

Alonissos, an even much more rugged island lies in the middle of a marine national park and it is surrounded by a group of uninhabited satellite islands. It retains an exclusive climate and exceptional hiking routes. Skyros is the least visited island of the four, although there is a fully operating airport. Those who will invest in the island will be rewarded by an atmosphere that blends traditional Greek village life with an increasing trendy alternative vibe.
