Kos

A sure sign that summer is just around the corner is the sudden influx of visitors on bikes. The mostly flat island is perfect for cycling and an excellent way to get around and fully appreciate everything the island has to offer.

The number of cyclists however, does not signal a lack of public transport. With reassuring regularity you can take a bus out to explore a far flung village or simply pop into town for a stroll around.

Long considered as a crossroads of cultures and civilisations it is also a crossroads in terms of location, with the port of Kos located in the very heart of the city center with ferries coming and going to the mainland as well as other islands. Kos is very close to Rhodes and Symi and day trips from here are just a short ride away. There is also a privately owned, state of the art, private marina to moor your boat or perhaps rent one for a few days sailing.

Kos has many large and very beautiful beaches and is a popular destination for summer holidays, one that many people return to year after year. The cuisine served by small run family restaurants and tavernas, is as exceptional here as is the warmth of the Greek hospitality.
